Nasirah Jackson
Nasirah AKA Nasi, believes that it’s her mission in life to spread peace and understanding. Nasirah joined Monsta Fam in late February of 2012. Nasirah in a way is like a jack of all trades. Any project she's given becomes a masterpiece before our very eyes. Nasirah is able to do everything from writing movie scripts, Raps, R&B songs, and of course Spoken Word/Poetry. Nasirah has been writing since she was 6 years of age.
Growing up Nasirah had troubles expressing and accepting her emotion, Poetry became her salvation, her alternate reality. Spoken Word is what helps Nasirah cope with emotions that seem impossible to express.
Nasirah's musical influences include India Arie, Jill Scott, Corrine Bailey Rae and Lauryn Hill. "My pen is driven by my belief that knowledge is power" She Explains, “I just want to empower those who give me their attention.” Nasirah has a beautiful mind with a strong heart and stands for what she believes, free from the criticisms of others. She was named “FreeSpirit” by a small group of her fans, and tries every day to live up to that title.
